If
you asked the average seven-year old boy what he wanted for Christmas or his
Birthday, his answers could be anything from a Lego aeroplane to a petrol
fuelled quad bike: not true of three generous boys from Oundle Primary School
who, in the Christmas of 2012, asked their friends and parents for donations to
be given to Ark in Oundle instead of receiving presents for themselves. The
boys, Jakob Bonnett, Oliver Cruise and Dylan Turnells whose respective
Birthdays are also 24th , 25th and 26th of
December wanted their donations to go towards the “PitStop Project”, the
“Climbing tasters” and the very successful “Bush
Craft” weekends that Ark runs. All three are
active members of Oundle Juniors Football Club and recognised Ark from their
logo as a named kit sponsor. Jonathan Ratcliffe went to see the boys today at
their school to congratulate them on their generosity and to thank them in
person (see pictures). The Team at Ark have promised the boys a chance to take
part in a future Ark Bush Craft weekend when they are old enough. A massive
thank you to the three fantastic and kind young fundraisers who donated a
combined £134 to Ark.
